Privacy Policy
Effective October 23, 2026 · Applies to the Viralytics Chrome extension and viralyticsext.app
In short
- The Instagram data you analyze is processed in your browser and is never sent to us.
- We don't use analytics, tracking pixels or ads, and we never sell data.
- If you buy Pro, only your license key and a random device ID are sent to our server to verify your license.
- Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy. We never see your full card details.
Who we are
Viralytics is a Chrome extension that shows analytics for public Instagram profiles. It is operated by an independent developer, Gagan Bindoria. Viralytics is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram™ or Meta Platforms, Inc.
Questions about this policy: gaganbindoria2002@gmail.com.
Data processed on your device
When you open a public Instagram profile and run a scan, the extension requests that profile's publicly available posts and Reels (views, likes, comments, captions, hashtags, dates) from Instagram using the session your browser already has with instagram.com. We never ask for, read or store your Instagram password.
All analysis — engagement rates, charts, best time to post, hashtag rankings, outlier detection — happens locally in your browser. This Instagram data is not sent to Viralytics or any third party.
What the extension stores locally
- Settings and preferences (theme, default scan options, view mode) in your browser's extension storage, plus a few display preferences in your browser's storage for instagram.com.
- Creators you choose to save, including their scanned post statistics, in a local database in your browser's storage for instagram.com, so you can compare them later.
- Your license key and order ID, if you activate Pro, in the extension's storage.
Some settings use Chrome's sync storage. If you have Chrome Sync turned on, Google syncs that data between your own signed-in browsers. We don't have access to it.
Files you download (videos, images, CSV, Excel or PDF reports) are saved directly to your computer through Chrome's download manager.
Data sent to our server and partners
Only licensing needs a network connection outside Instagram. Using the free features sends nothing to us.
| Data | Sent to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| License key, order ID, and a randomly generated device ID | Our license server and Lemon Squeezy | To activate, verify and deactivate your Pro license, and to free a device slot when you reinstall |
| Your subscription details (name, email, plan, renewal date, card brand and last four digits) | Retrieved from Lemon Squeezy through our server | Shown to you on the extension's Settings page. We don't store this on our server. |
| Payment information you enter at checkout | Lemon Squeezy (our payment provider and merchant of record) | To process your purchase. We never receive your full card number. |
Lemon Squeezy handles payment data under its own privacy policy: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
What we don't do
- We don't collect your browsing history or read pages other than instagram.com.
- We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools in the extension.
- We don't sell, rent or share your data with third parties, except Lemon Squeezy for payments as described above.
- We don't use or transfer data for purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality, or to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Permissions the extension uses
- Access to instagram.com — to show the analytics panel on profile pages and read the public posts you scan.
- Downloads — to save the media and reports you choose to download.
- Storage — to remember your settings, saved creators and license.
- Notifications — to tell you when a long scan finishes.
- Access to api.lemonsqueezy.com — to activate and validate Pro licenses.
Retention and deletion
Data stored locally stays on your device until you remove it:
- Saved creators — delete them any time from the extension's Saved section.
- Extension storage (settings, license) — removed when you uninstall the extension.
- Storage kept under instagram.com (saved creators and display preferences) — not removed by uninstalling. Clear it from Chrome's settings under Privacy and security → Site settings → instagram.com → Delete data.
- Your license on this device — logging out from the extension's Settings page deactivates it and clears the stored license data.
To have your license record removed from our server, email us from the address you used at purchase. Lemon Squeezy keeps purchase records as required for tax and accounting.
